Uganda Cranes Midfielder Travis Mutyaba to Part Ways with Egyptian Giants Zamalek SC

Uganda Cranes’ rising star, Travis Mutyaba, is set to part ways with Egyptian football powerhouse, Zamalek SC, at the end of the current season. The 19-year-old midfielder, who has been touted as one of Uganda’s most promising football talents, will see his time with the Cairo-based club cut short, despite having signed a four-year contract just last year.

This development was revealed by renowned Ghanaian-based African football journalist, Micky Junior, who broke the news on his X (formerly Twitter) account. “Understand: Zamalek SC will part ways with Uganda’s Travis Mutyaba (19) once the season ends in Egypt,” Junior posted on Friday morning, sending shockwaves through Ugandan football circles.

Mutyaba’s move to Zamalek was initially seen as a significant step forward in his young career, with the club’s rich history and competitive environment offering a prime opportunity for growth. However, it now appears that the relationship between the player and the club will be terminated prematurely.

The exact reasons for the termination of Mutyaba’s contract remain unclear, but it marks a sudden and unexpected turn in what was supposed to be a long-term commitment. Since joining Zamalek, the young midfielder has shown flashes of his potential, but perhaps not enough to secure his place in the highly competitive squad of the Egyptian giants.

As the season draws to a close, speculation will undoubtedly mount regarding Mutyaba’s next move. Given his talent and potential, the young midfielder is likely to attract interest from clubs across Africa and beyond. For now, however, all eyes will be on how he concludes his stint with Zamalek and what lies ahead in his promising football career.
