Minister Amongi rallies Ugandans to embrace internal savings

Minister of gender labour and social development Hon Betty Amongi has rallied ugandans to embrace internal savings to avoid depending on international donations and borrowings. #WhisperEyeNews #UgandaNews #Uganda

Amongi made the revelation on Tuesday during a one day training workshop organised by National Social Security Fund (NSSF) in conjunction with ministry of gender labour and social development at Northern Gateway hotel in Kamdini Town council Oyam district.

The training on domestic savings attracted labour inspectors and  local government leaders who includes RDCs,RCCs,LC5 chairpersons and ,CAOs from 41 districts and 4 municipalities across Karamoja,Teso,Acholi,Lango,and WestNile sub regions.

According to Amongi with the termination of World Bank funding to uganda there is prior needs for uganda to embrace internal savings chiting Vietnam as one of the country that has develop its economy on internal savings therefore she said this can be implemented through serious sensitisations by RDCs,LC5 chairpersons, CAOs and labour officers among other leaders.

She concluded by calling on Ugandans to embrace voluntary savings with Nssf so that this country economy can grow faster.

Milton Owor chief people and culture officer in the ministry of gender Labour and social development said their aim is to develope uganda  11% to  me trillion 50.

Owor further said the biggest challenge they are facing is that many employers are still cheating their employees which calls for serious intervention from various stakeholder in fighting this vise.

Benson Dila the Lc5 chairman of Oyam district applauded his exellency president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and parliament of uganda for passing and approving homosexuality saying this protects African values and cultures but he further said with the world bank decision to terminate all leaders must help in the implementation process so that this can be a success.

Ayikuru Sunday who is the vice  chairperson Lc5 Terego district  however expressed her fear lack of man power and equipments may affects the implementation of this initiative in community service departments chiting example that in Terego district community service department lacks vehicle for implementing its activities which may be the same case with other local governments.

Meanwhile in his closing remarks  William Komakec the  resident district commissioner of Oyam district applauded Nssf for this induction saying they are committed to implement this government program.
