Property worth millions destroyed as fire guts houses in Zombo

Ravaging Fire has gutted A building housing offices of the Padea Town Council Business community in Padea Town Council  Zombo District,  destroying properties worth millions of shillings. #WhisperEyeNews

Though details about the cause of the fire are still scanty, The strong blaze is suspected to have started inside a room behind the office, where a woman was preparing food.

The Chairperson Padea Town Council business community Albert Openjmungu told the Whisper Eye News that properties worth over Ugx  5 million were destroyed.

The office is situated in Awangkwar Cell, Ndindu Ward along the main street.

” The fire started at around midday yesterday when all of us were at home, it destroyed 242 plastic chairs, 141 were rescued by well-wishers, our files, documents, properties like utensils for highering and many others were completely razed down, I can’t account for everything now,” Openjtho said.

Douglas Rupiny,  The District councillor of Padea Town Council said they are still struggling to ascertain the cause of the fire.

He appealed for more support to the business community adding that, their properties were of great importance and bringing a lot of revenue.

” Properties were lost by many people, we are just appealing to our leaders like MPS to come and help these people if they can” Rupiny briefly said.

Recently, a fire also gutted a re_ known local restaurant and some houses next to it in  Paidha Town Council in Zombo, and properties worth millions of shillings were equally destroyed.
