National Unity Platform (NUP) president Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu also known as Bobi Wine has sacked former presidential candidate Samuel Walter Lubega Mukaaku on allegations of promoting DP candidates in NUP.

Privy source close to Kamwokya has told Whisper Eye news that Mr Mukaaku who has been the vice chairman of the National Elections Management Commission has been fired together with two commissioners on the National Elections Management Committee.

Two others are Commissioner Ssebuwufu JohnMary Kiyimba, and Commissioner Jeremiah Keeya Mwanje.

All the sacked commissioners are former leaders in the Democratic Party (DP).

Reports indicates that these commissioners have been promoting former DP leader’s in the new party of NUP.

Mr Mukaaku has told Whisper Eye news that he promoted DP candidates against NRM candidates who were backed by ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM).

“I rather have youths from DP, than those of ruling NRM. I couldn’t look on as NRM take advantage of money to win youth positions. It was better to have youths from DP,” says Mr Mukaaku.

Immediately Bobi Wine has appointed his long time musician-friend Mr Tonny Bikumbi popularly known as Tony Houls.

Currently pressure has engulfed NUP headquarters at Kamwokya as members are wondering about Mr Wine’s decisions and directives.
