End of the road: NRM party plans to replace VP Ssekandi with popular agriculturalist Sseremba Godfrey . Whisper Eye Updates

Yesterday popular coffee agriculturalist Godfrey Sseremba Mayanja successfully nominated as a parliamentary candidate for the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) to contest with Uganda’s vice president Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi for the Bukoto County Central constituency in Masaka district.

Sources privy to NRM Electoral Commission intimated to Whisper Eye News that there were plans to block the youthful Godfrey Sseremba from nominating.

Mr Sseremba immediately after his nomination told us, that he is set to defeat Mr Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi who has represented Bukoto Central constituency since 1996.

He said that he has come to raise the muted voice of the people of Bukoto Central for the last 25years.

According to Mr Sseremba, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni promised mainly three things to the people of Bukoto Central including; A food processing industry for Pineapple growers, tarmac road from Bukunda to Ddimu landing site and a Vocational Institution.

“I’m very confident that I will talk to the president, to meet the promises, because he is willing but no body is raising our voice,” says Mr Sseremba.

A reliable sources told Whisper Eye that some NRM officials are planning to replace VP Ssekandi arguing that they may loose the constituency to opposition if Mr Ssekandi bounce back as the NRM flag bearer.

Mr Sseremba is a son to late Gorge William Mukasa Mayanja former general manager of Masaka cooperative union.

He is popularly known as Nkoko by residents of Bukoto Central , he emulated from his farther who was a great poultry farmer in Masaka district in early 1990s.

Whisper Eye efforts to get a word from the Vice President Camp was futile.
