Just In: UJA elections set on Saturday, journalists’ body lack funds for venue. Whisper Eye Reports

Uganda Journalists Association (UJA) the supreme body of journalists in Uganda is looking for funds to conduct elections set on Saturday 12th, December, 2020.

Sources intimated to UJA administration told Whisper Eye that the UJA administrators declared 12th December as the voting date but now stranded after failing to raise money for the venue.

The source further told Whisper Eye that now the Association is left with an option of conducting election at their offices in Kawempe as the constitution has no provision of extending elections.

UJA leadership meeting European Union some time back

UJA administrator Mr Kiyimba had no comment about the failure of the Association to collect funds to find the elections.

However Mr Kiyimba said that UJA is organising her elections and everything is moving on as they planned.

On the issue of the venue, Mr Kiyimba said that they have many venues at their disposal, saying that it will depend on their choice to chose the venue where elections will take place.
