National Lottery and Gaming Board Applauds Corporate Entities for Outstanding Social Responsibility

In a remarkable show of appreciation, the National Lottery and Gaming Board (NLGB) has commended companies operating under its jurisdiction for their exceptional commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Speaking at the grand launch of the 2025 Corporate League Uganda at Katikati Grounds in Kampala, the Public Relations Officer of the National Lottery and Gaming Board, Madam Jackline Kamakune, expressed gratitude to corporate organizations for going beyond business and actively contributing to the well-being of Ugandans.

Madam Kamakune specifically applauded the generous sponsors of the Corporate League for their heartfelt donation of Mama Kits to health centers in Iganga and Gulu. These life-saving kits, essential for expectant mothers, will play a crucial role in ensuring safe deliveries for mothers who often struggle to access proper medical care.

“This is exactly what corporate entities should be doing—using their success to uplift communities. Giving back is not a choice; it is a responsibility,” she stated passionately.

The donated Mama Kits, which contain essential childbirth materials such as gloves, cotton wool, disinfectants, surgical blades, and baby blankets, will bring hope and dignity to thousands of expectant mothers.

The NLGB PRO further emphasized that corporate organizations must not stop at profits but rather actively engage in national development. She acknowledged that while the gaming and lottery sector contributes significantly to Uganda’s economy, its impact should also be felt in social transformation, health, and education.

“Every company, no matter its industry, has a duty to improve the lives of the people it serves. These Mama Kits will save lives, and that is what true corporate responsibility looks like,” she added.

The Corporate League Uganda has grown into a prestigious platform that not only promotes teamwork, fitness, and networking but also champions corporate giving. This year’s edition, running from March to November 2025, is expected to be the biggest yet, with over 100 companies participating.

The league’s commitment to social causes, such as the Mama Kit donations, sets it apart as an event that combines sportsmanship with social impact.
