Tragedy Strikes Near Kiteezi Landfill: Garbage Collapse Leaves Many Feared Dead

A devastating incident occurred early this morning near the Kiteezi Landfill, as a massive pile of garbage collapsed onto nearby houses, leaving an unknown number of people feared dead. The disaster has also trapped livestock under the debris, adding to the growing concerns.

The collapse, which is believed to have happened around dawn, caught residents off guard, burying them under a mountain of trash. Emergency services were quickly summoned to the scene, with police and rescue teams racing against time to save those trapped.

“We are doing everything humanly possible to rescue those still trapped under the garbage,” said a police spokesperson. “Our teams are working tirelessly to clear the debris and reach those in need of assistance.”

The exact number of casualties is still unknown, but eyewitnesses report seeing multiple houses buried under the waste. The affected area is home to numerous families, and concerns are growing for those still unaccounted for.

In addition to the human toll, livestock in the area have also been trapped under the garbage. Efforts are being made to rescue the animals, but the situation remains dire.

The cause of the collapse is yet to be determined, but authorities have launched an investigation into the incident. The Kiteezi Landfill has faced criticism in the past for its management and safety concerns.

As rescue efforts continue, the community is in shock, with many gathering at the scene to offer support and assistance. Our thoughts are with those affected by this tragedy, and we will provide updates as more information becomes available.
