Nebbi: Man hacked to death by unknown assailants

Residents of Nyaravur-Angal Town Council Nebbi District yesterday discovered the body of a  38 year old Male adult identified as Victor Okello, that was dumped in a garden in Acibu cell,  Mbaro East Ward. He was  a resident  of the same cell.

The  deceased had  torture marks and deep cuts on different parts of his body including his mouth.

The  LC1 Chairperson of Acibu Cell Ayikanying Kenneth said the body was discovered along Paicing stream.

“I got the report when I was not at home that the brother of Rev. Alex Opio was found dead near Paicing stream, upon notifying police, the body was taken for postmortem as investigation starts. That place is so quiet and many people fear for their life”. Ayikanying told the whispereye news in an interview.

The deceased brother Rev Alex Opio of Nyaravur Parish Church of Uganda  said his brother went missing  from home  on sunday evening.

“My brother was staying with me and he left home on Sunday at around 4pm going to 5pm, and he didn’t come back home”. Said Rev Alex Opio.

The body was  taken for postmortem by officers from Nebbi Central Police Station.

The LC3 chairperson of Nyaravur-Angal Town Council Alex Judagi  condoled with  the family of the  deceased before calling for ” vigilant since  the spot has become a hub for criminals”.

He added that ” efforts are underway to make sure the place is secure”.

At the same spot, a lady was murdered years ago according to local leaders.

On Christmas day, In Nyaravur Angal Town Council, a 76 year  old man  also committed suicide.
