Paidha United Sc secures crucial points in a stiff greater Nebbi Derby

A  single goal by Paidha United SC attacker Ogencan scored in the 35 minutes of the first half was enough to earn The Paidha regional league side 3 solid Points against another Greater Nebbi Side Pakwach Young Stars. The game ended with a goal to Zero.

The game coupled with the derby atmosphere on Saturday afternoon was marred with a lot of physiques and hardness from both sides all eyeing the top spot.

 At the beginning of the second half, The match was delayed for some minutes with the host team in choruses pointing at a  Pakwach Young Stars player as ineligible, a claim that would not be independently verified by match officials thus giving a nod for the game to proceed.

The stiff competition between the two Greater Nebbi-based sides at King Stadium Cana in Paidha Town Council was marred with a lot of tense atmospheres as the visiting Pakwach Young Stars side fought tooth and nail up to the final whistle.

Paidha United played defensively in the better part of the second half with Pakwach Young Stars attacking all through the game till stoppage time.

The Pakwach dominated the game in the midfield prompting Abraham the Paidha United SC coach to make some changes in the middle of the park to beef up the midfield that was exposing the defense.

The goalkeeper of Paidha United was hailed by the home fans for the super saves he made between the sticks as the dangerous forwards of the visiting side unleashed thunderbolt strikes all through the game.

Abraham Ogusi’s Side returned to their winning ways after suffering a defeat last week to their rival  Nebbi Municipality-based side Nebbi Central Football Club at Luo grounds in Nebbi Municipality.

As Paidha United Sc danced with joy all over to celebrate their hard-earned win after defending the attacking Pakwach side, Some officials and Players of Pakwach Young Stars were not happy after the final whistle sounded.

The Pakwach side poured onto to pitch to soround the center referee in what they alleged was poor officiation prompting Officers under the Field Force Unit attached to Paidha central police station to intervene to guard the match officials until the situation normalizes.

By press time the West Nile regional league body was yet to release the table standing after the regional league games of Sunday.
