We are losing many believers at higher education level , says  Nebbi Catholic Bishop

The Bishop of Nebbi Catholic Diocese Rt Rev Raphael P’omony  Wokorach has urged learners to desist from the Practice of avoiding church activities when they reach a higher level of education.

According to the Bishop, The practice of learners avoiding prayers and other church activities has become rampant, especially among secondary students, those in tertiary institutions,  universities and other higher levels of education.

The Bishop made the revelation Whilst speaking to hundreds of believers Of  Paidha Catholic Parish at St John Paul II Oturgang Boys Primary School playground in Paidha Town Council on October 26, where he confirmed more than 150 learners from different schools in Paidha Town Council in a Sacrament of Confirmation.

Some of the confirmed learners. According to the Bishop, At primary level, the learners tend to follow church services diligently but change abruptly at higher level of education.

” we are losing many young Christians especially when they reach secondary school, tertiary institutions and universities, The unfortunate thing is sometimes they get into practices that is contrary to what the Catholic church preaches and believe in, Let’s try to support our children” The Bishop said .

He also reiterated the need for enough support towards the work of small Christian communities to help in encouraging and strengthening the belief of young Christians in homes.

Apparently,  many believers from mainstream churches  especially youths are crossing to the  mushrooming churches where some are promised blessings , Easy money , Jobs and other favors.
