Mixed reactions Teenager reportedly drowns in Nebbi River

Residents of Alala Sub County Nebbi District on October 18, woke up to a rudely awakening news of the drowning of a boy believed to be around 12  years old on  River Acwera.#WhisperEyeNews

The lifeless body of the unidentified male child was discovered by The LC 1 chairperson of Pawo Acwera village Orombi Benjamin Kisa who went for garden work along the river.

The LC3 chairperson of Alala Sub county Richard Binega calls upon parents and school administrators to keenly monitor children.

Meanwhile, the RDC of Nebbi Robert Abak said the body of the teenager is at Nebbi Hospital Mortuary and called upon people to go and identify.

Recently, a 10-year-old boy also drowned in a fish pond in the Jupangira sub-county Nebbi district.

The Ministry of Works and Transport April this year’s report indicated that  3000 Ugandans on average die of drowning in Ugandan water bodies yearly and many of the cases are not reported to authorities.
