Two dead, one injured in Adjumani road junction nasty crash

Two people have died on the spot after cars they were travelling in collided at Awindiri road in Adjumani Town Council Adjumani district on the 15th of July, The North West Nile region Police Spokesperson SP Dragudu Ignatius has confirmed.

“The collision was between an M/V NO 0922D Toyota Land Cruiser ( V8) Gray in Colour being driven by Mondo James and An M/C NO UEY 961E That was being driven by Vincent Anyoni Lokecha ” The statement from North West Nile region police spokesperson SP Dragudu Ignatius reads in part.

 One of the drivers called Vincent Anyoni Lokecha aged 36, a male adult from Omirieyi Central village, Kureku Parish Ojuo Sub_County Adjumani district died on the spot together with a Kenyan national Kangetoe Charles Kimare aged 30.

Sifa Ashraf, who sustained serious injuries is admitted at Adjumani General Hospital.

Authorities at Adjumani Police Station are still holding the driver of one of the cars James Mondo to aid in the investigation.

The cause of the accident was not clear by press time according to Police.

From the beginning of this year, the West Nile subregion has recorded over 50  fatalities as a result of serious road crashes.

A recent Police report indicates that at least 12 people die in Uganda daily due to rampant road crashes.

In the past weeks, the country has been mourning the loss of prominent people due to road crashes.
