Zombo notorious Murder suspect arrested

Authorities at Paidha central police station in Zombo district are having in their Custody a suspect called Geoffrey Odaga, a resident of Labora village Otheko parish Paidha Sub-county in connection to the murder of two visually impaired men on May 26th.

The body of two that went fishing at River Zingili at Labora village was discovered by farmers early in the morning with their throats all slit.

The murder of the two was highly protested by their relatives who retaliated by setting alight more than 70 huts at Labora village Otheko Parish Paidha Sub_County where they were murdered.

Properties worth millions of shillings were destroyed and looted by the angry relatives of the deceased.

Aid groups and some leaders have been extending humanitarian assistance to the hundreds of internally displaced persons most of whom are children below the age of 10.

The displaced were taking refuge at Pubidhi primary school in the Nebbi district.

The murder of the two visually impaired men identified as Jacob Odongo and Charles who were residents of Avonu Central and Jupumwocu Pambu respectively in Paidha Sub-county was also protested by the leadership of Persons with Disabilities in Zombo headed by Geoffrey Aliana Oryem, who called for a thorough investigation into the Case.

The LC1 chairperson of Avonu central, Amei Parish who is a relative to one of the deceased Bernard Orach, speaking at Paidha central police station said the suspect was arrested in Pubidhi in Nebbi district.

“When we got news about this suspect, we reported to the police of Nebbi to have him arrested since he was From the side of Nebbi district, he is now here in Paidha Police ” Orach explained. He added that “we have information about two key suspects who masterminded the murder of the two.”,

The LC3 chairperson of Paidha sub_county William Okethi said the suspect upon arrest was transferred to Paidha Central police station for further investigation.

He cautioned locals against mob action.

” The suspect was transferred to Paidha central police station, like I always say if you commit a crime, your time will come, we need to avoid taking laws into our hands,” Okethi told the Whisper Eye news at Paidha central police station.

Police are having names of six suspects in connection to the incident all of whom are at Large.

The O.C CID Zombo district Maureen Kitimbo confirmed having the suspect in their Custody.
