The dormitory that is set to be equipped with metallic decker beds, mattresses, blankets, and bed sheets will relieve learners with special needs from congestion and spur academic performance.

The construction of the classroom fund is 315 million Uganda shillings and a dump cheque was offered to the school administration.

During the launch on Saturday Gidaga Charles the lion club president Pakwach remarked that this generous initiative would also attract parents with disabled children to enroll them in school.

“These children must of them have been coming from home as they are impaired, and walking is difficult for them they will be residing from school and it will improve their performance and make it easy for managing them that’s one signature project that Lion project Pakwach has done,” he said.

Dr. Ochan Wathum Ocama a member of the diaspora Pakwach lion club and also the executive president of Education Africa anon-profit organization for the marginalized focusing on access to education for the children in sub-Saharan Africa said they already donated various items ranging from scholastic materials, sanitary facilities, and sponsorships to the visually impaired and deaf pupils in the district.

He believes that for the successful and holistic education program for the marginalized children in Pakwach district, adequate resources be channeled towards skilling and empowering teachers for special needs

“instructional materials including books and other that the school need should be urgently considered and   we  are also working with teachers in improving their skills this will make the dream of the learners in this great school improves further,” he remarked

Bedijo Joel the head teacher of Pajobi primary school hailed the lion clubs for coming to the pupil’s rescue because the school is overwhelmed by highly disabled children with limited sleeping space

Pajobi primary school with a total enrolment of 1,554 pupils has  120 special needs learners has only three teachers for the visually impaired subsequently only 5 staying in school pupils due to lack of accommodation.

The head teacher wants the government to expeditiously address pressing challenges for the smooth operation of the learners’ program in the school.

“We have inadequate specialized manpower and another challenge is unreliable electricity and it’s on and off and you know the blind and the deaf their senses are sensitive, my humble appreciation goes to lion club for coming to the aid of these vulnerable learners supplementing the initiatives of the government” he implored

Lion clubs international is the world’s largest service club organization with more than 1.4 million members who are dedicated to serving their communities and the world.
