Security heavily deployed as violence escalate in Zombo

Security forces in Zombo district have swung into action as violence continues to escalate into
Otheko parish paidha sub county Zombo. #WhisperEyeNews

This after two people were murdered in Labora village Otheko parish on allegations of theft.

The attacking community is retaliating against the murder of their relatives on the claim that they were innocently murdered.

The two murdered victims were identified as Jacob Odongo 23, and his colleague Charles who went fishing in River Zingili Labora village Otheko parish Paidha sub county.

The DPC of Zombo ASP Nelson Nahabwe, The deputy RDC of Zombo Grace Atim, and the Commander of the 57 Battalion in Paidha town are all on the ground to monitor the situation.

Many properties were looted and still, the running battle is ongoing between security operatives and the angry mob.

The violence has escalated to another village of Arisi where Properties are being looted.

Yesterday 72 houses were torched in Labora village by an angry mob of the retaliating Avonu community from Amay Parish Paidha Sub. county.

Hundreds have been left homeless without food and water.

Six people have so far been arrested in connection to the violence.
