Whisper Eye News, Koudijs, Melo Pharmaceuticals, International Livestock Research Institute, Prime Pork & many others join Mpigi district to celebrate pork day as a mechanism of promoting piggery farming

A number of organizations and companies have joined Mpigi district local government and the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal, Industry, and Fisheries (MAAIF) to celebrate the district pork day slated to take place on Friday 8th July 2022.

Those on board include;

Whisper Eye News agreed to make live coverage of the function, Koudijs who are Uganda’s leading producer of complete feed programs, concentrates, and premixes for poultry, dairy, pigs and Aqua,
Melo Pharmaceuticals Ltd, is a registered pharmaceutical company with extensive experience in Human Health, Veterinary, Crop health as well as Public health.

Others on board are;

International Livestock Research Institute and Prime Pork are among the companies with the best pork in Kampala. They make delivery to you both fresh pork and roasted or cooked pork, and the Uganda Veterinary Association (UVA) who have all joined with an aim of promoting piggery farming in the district.

The Pork Day event will be at the Agriculture Development Center (ADC) near Nsamizi Institute in Mpigi Town Council under the theme: “Enhancing piggery production and productivity through modern husbandry practices and value addition”.

Mpigi district production officer Mr. Sserwadda James Patrick told Whisper Eye News that they have organized a one-day piggery training event to improve piggery farming in the district by improving piggery production and productivity through modern husbandry practices and value addition ahead of the Parish Development Model ( PDM) implementation.

“Everything is set, we are starting strictly at 9:00 AM with the training. We urge participants to manage time,” says Mr. Sserwadda.

Many people from nearby districts of Butambala, Wakiso, and Kampala have shown interest to attend the event.

Reliable sources intimated to Mpigi district, told Whisper Eye News that the organizers have also organized a meal with pork for the day prepared differently.
