Chelsea are ready to make a £14 million bid for Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo following talks between owner Todd Boehly and manager Thomas Tuchel, say reports.

The 37-year-old forward, who was the club’s top scorer last season with 24 goals, has asked to leave United should the Premier League club receive a ‘satisfactory offer’ this summer.

Ronaldo’s desire to play in the Champions League for the remainder of his career is one of the driving factors behind his decision, as is his frustrations with United’s inactivity in the transfer market.

Chelsea have been one of the clubs linked with a move for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner. Last month, Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes reportedly held discussions over a possible transfer with owner Todd Boehly.

According to The Athletic, Boehly met Mendes in Portugal and the idea of Ronaldo making a move to Stamford Bridge this summer were amongst the topics of conversation during the meeting.

Now, a report from Football Insider suggests Chelsea are ready to make a move.
