Veteran music Dj Alex Ndawula has passed on

Alex Munyantos Ndawula, one of the pioneer DJs in Uganda has passed on. According to news coming from Nsambya Hospital, Ndawula passed on Monday evening aged 59. #WhisperEyeNews #News

He was the star of private FM stations in Uganda, swept in by the early 90s liberalisation of the airwaves that ushered in the Capital FMs and Sanyu Radios of this city.

He fed the country with his loud, controversial, sometimes abrasive style of presenting. Ndawula was the face and voice of FM radios. He quit Capital FM where he had been for over two decades for the defunct Jazz FM in 2017.

He worked as a radio presenter and deejay at Capital FM, arguably Uganda’s biggest radio stations from 1995 until May 2017.
Ndawula is being mourned by many Ugandans in different fields of life especially the entertainment industry in which he had a big impact as a music promoter and a celebrated deejay.

“NATION IN GRIEF! A mic legend, maestro disc spinner, Alex Ndawula is gone!,” posted Miles Rwamiti a veteran TV personality.

“Rest in Peace Radio Legendary Alex Ndawula. You paved a way for many. Rest in Power,” posted Douglas Lwanga, a TV presenter and entertainment show host at NBS TV.

May his soul rest in peace
