Nkozi Parish celebrates 91 years, MPs Teddy Nambooze, and Yusuf Nsibambi mobilizes Catholics to raise funds for Church re-novation

Our Lady of Lourdes Equator Nkozi Catholic Parish celebrated 91 years since its establishment in 1931 on a function that intended to raise funds for buying cement for the church renovation. #WhisperEyeNews #Uganda #UgandaNews

On the occasion, Mpigi District woman MP Teddy Nambooze who was represented by her Political Assistant Andrew Mugonza Senator hailed the pioneer founders of Nkoz Parish for the tremendous development projects it has contributed to the general Mpigi District community and its neighbors of Kalungu and Butambala.

“Nkozi hospital, Uganda Martyrs University, St Marys’s SS Nkozi, St Mugagga Primary Schools to mention but a few all of which are church entities are a boast to every native of Mpigi District. We should stand bold and thank the founders with praises for their brevity and efforts towards civilization, education, health, and development altogether.” A letter from Hon. Teddy Nambooze addressed all Christians at Nkozi catholic parish, through the parish priest read Rev Fr. John Baptist Ssendagala.

The MPs also donated 1000 Kgs of Cement towards the church renovation, according to the parish priest Rev Fr JB Ssendagala each Christian is expected to contribute 57 kilograms of cement.

The mass was led by Kampala Archdiocesan Archbishop Paul Ssemogerere, who in his preaching hailed the catholic community of Our Lady of Lourdes Equator Nkozi Catholic parish to stand up and take the mantle to seeing Nkozi modernized beyond imagination.

Bishop Ssemogerere planted a tree in front of the maize milling machine as well as Mr. Mugonza Andrew Senator.

Mawokota South MP Yusuf Nsibambi who was among the top contributors of cement, through different forums including his Luseese sub parish, Nabusanke sub parish, and his personal contributions appreciated Nkozi parish for enhancing development in the area.

Nsimbabi questioned residents in Mpigi district to work hard and avoid politics at the moment until campaign time comes.
