President Museveni, First Lady Janet Join Thousands at ‘Light Up Uganda for Jesus’ National Prayer Crusade

In a powerful demonstration of faith and national unity, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and First Lady Maama Janet Museveni attended and officially concluded the Light Up Uganda for Jesus Mission 2025 at the Kololo Independence Grounds on Saturday. The week-long crusade, spearheaded by Pastor Patience Rwabwogo, brought together thousands of believers and religious leaders with a shared mission: to pray for Uganda and dedicate the nation to God.

The event, which has run for five consecutive days, culminated in a symbolic and spiritual ceremony that saw the President, the First Lady, and Bishop Dr. LaDonna Osborn sign the Light Up Uganda for Jesus Declaration — a document expressing Uganda’s reaffirmed commitment to Christian values, spiritual renewal, and divine guidance for the country’s future.

Also present at the climax of the crusade were Pastor Patience Rwabwogo and Bishop Dr. Joshua Lwere, who, alongside the First Family and Bishop Osborn, carried out a prophetic act of pouring holy oil on the ceremonial grounds a powerful symbol of consecration and surrender of the land to God’s divine purposes.

“Uganda belongs to God,” President Museveni declared during his remarks. “We are dedicating this land to the Lord so that righteousness, peace, and prosperity may dwell in our midst.” The First Lady echoed the sentiment, urging Ugandans to remain anchored in biblical principles as the foundation for national transformation.

Throughout the crusade, various religious leaders from across denominations led sessions of worship, intercession, and declaration, calling on God to heal the land, guide the leadership, and bless the people of Uganda.

Pastor Patience Rwabwogo, who organized the crusade under the theme Light Up Uganda for Jesus, emphasized that the event was not just a religious gathering but a national awakening. “It is time for Uganda to shine with the light of Christ. When a nation turns its heart to God, everything changes governance, justice, the economy, and the hearts of the people,” she said.

Bishop Dr. LaDonna Osborn, an international evangelist and guest speaker, praised the spiritual atmosphere and the unity displayed by Uganda’s leadership and faith community. “What we have witnessed here is revival in motion. Uganda is setting an example for nations around the world.”

As the final prayers were made and worship filled the skies above Kololo, there was a deep sense of spiritual renewal, unity, and hope for the future of Uganda. The gathering concluded with the entire congregation reciting a national prayer of dedication, led by both government officials and church leaders.
