Mr. Ssempala Amos Kigozi was appointed the Resident District Commissioner for Mpigi district.

Ssempala Kigozi is a former NRA bush warfighter, who retired from the force at the rank of Captain in the Uganda Peoples Defense Forces (UPDF).

He was the first LC. V chairman of Nakaseke district and his role in the newly created district laid a firm foundation and recommendable work.

He was also the NRM chairman of Nakaseske District from 2006 to 2016

He has also served as RDC in Kayunga and Namutumba districts

With a master’s degree in public administration from Makerere University, Mr. Ssempala has found it easy to serve the country as a resident district commissioner in Kayunga and Namutumba districts.

During the unpopular Obote regime, Mr. Ssempala’s father was killed by Obote soldiers and up to now, his remains have never been found.

According to residents of Namutumba district, Mr. Ssempala is very intelligent, humble, and kind and treats people equally before the law.

Many people have been confused after the publication of the appointment list of RDCs, thinking that National Unity Platform (NUP) member and former Makindye Ssabagabo MP Ssempala Kigozi Ssajjalyabeene was appointed RDC of Mpigi district.
