Shot stopper Mathias Kigonya joins Tanzanian giants Azam FC. Whisper Eye Reports
Kigonya joins Azam from Zambia’s Forest Rangers on a free transfer after he signed a two-year contract with the Chamanzi best club.
According to Kigonya’s personal manager Simon Wasswa, the Keeper is just waiting to be unveiled since the deal is already signed.
“Everything is done and goalkeeper Mathias Kigonya has completed the move to Tanzania Premier League giants Azam FC for a period of two years with an option of extension.”
Kigonya, 24 had a superb season in Zambia where he led Forest Rangers to second place in the national super league, earning the goalkeeper of the season award
Kigonya previously had spells with Bright Stars in the Uganda Premier League, Kakamega HomeBoyz, and Sofapaka SC in Kenya.
Kigonya will join Uganda counterpart Nicholas Wadada who also plays for the wheat flour makers. Kigonya also joins a list of Ugandans who have featured for Azam including Brain Umonyi and Brian Majwega
