The bruised Kasasiro boys landed safely in Kigali ahead of a tough fixture against AS Kigali. Besides being beaten in the last two fixtures in the league, KCCA were hit by Covid 19 that saw most of its senior players and coach missing the flight to Rwanda.

KCCA was only able to travel with 14 players out of the required 21. Head coach Mike Mutebi almost missed the flight after testing positive leaving the squad in the hands of deputy Morley Byekwaso. Senior shot stopper Charles Lukwago and his two deputies Ali Mwirui and Hassan Matovu also missed the flight leaving the pole sticks in the hands of an unxperienced keeper.

Other players who missed the flight after testing positive include, Denis Iguma, Samson Kigozi, Brian Aheebwa, Hassan Musana, Kezironi Kizito and Italian Stefano Mazengo.

First team coaches Kaddu Badru and Jackson Magera plus goalkeeping coach Moses Oloya also missed the flight after testing positive.

However Assistant coach Byekwaso insists that the available shallow squad will do its best to see that its its good result out of the first leg in Kigali.
