Money: How NUP candidate for Buyamba failed to raise 3m nomination fees, gives NRM’s Gyaviira MP clear seat. Whisper Eye Reports

After the closure of Members of Parliament nominations across the country, many candidates from various political parties nominated.

In Buyamba county, Rakai district National Resistance Movement (NRM) candidate Ssemwanga Gyaviira popularly known as Kisoboka nominated unopposed after his competitor Mr Balaba Jimmy Bwanika from National Unity Platform (NUP) failed to raise Ugx 3,000,000/= nomination fee.

NUP coordinator Kirumira Lwanga from Kyotera told Whisper Eye news that they did not receive money from headquarters for nomination.

Many NUP candidates for local government positions in Rakai and Kyotera failed to nominate due to lack of nomination fees, and financial support.

From Bundibujjo, Mr Bagonza Kagholo NUP flag bearer for Bwamba county crossed to the ruling NRM.

About six NRM MPs nominated unopposed and are waiting swearing ceremony to start representing their people .
