Bobi Wine blocked from Mbogo clan meeting as police fire live bullets & teargas. Whisper Eye Reports

Whisper Eye understands that Buganda clan Mbogo meeting has been halted after Police with other security forces fired live bullets and teargas to stop a clan meeting talking place.

According to Kyadondo East MP Hon Robert Kyagulanyi , Mbogo clan members were holding thanks giving prayers to commemorate seven years of Jajja Kayiira Gajuule’s successful chairmanship of the clan heads council of Buganda,

TheUganda police and the military raided the place, fired live bullets and teargas into a group of less than 40 dignitaries who were attending mass led by Bishop Kaggwa and prayers were disrupted. . He narrates


Our Clan head and most elderly people who were in attendance were severely affected. He added.


Bobi Wine and other clan members including Prof. Dumba Ssentamu have been blocked from accessing the venue.

Many young people have been arrested.

Bobi Wine strongly condemned what he called the  blantant disrespect of his culture and cultual institutions by the security forces.

By press time people had be asked to vacate the place immediately.

It was not clear who commanded the storage of the meeting.
