Tension: Maddu mayor Mugenyi arrested after losing NRM party flag to Gen Salim Saleh’s wife Kalumba . Whisper Eye Reports

There is panic among residents of Maddu town council in Gomba district after police and security operatives arrested area chairperson Mr Mugenyi Vincent immediately after losing the party flag to the said wife to Gen Salim Saleh, Ms Nalongo Jayne Kalumba.

Whisper Eye news has been reliably informed that Mr Mugenyi was arrested by security operatives after protesting Ms Kalumba’s victory on allegations of election malpractice, intimidation of voters and voter bribery.

According to Mr Mugenyi and his campaign team, Ms Kalumba brought many people from neighbouring sub counties and Kampala who were not voters in the area.

Our reliable source has informed Us, that Mr Mugenyi’s campaign agents were arrested on the eve of the election.

These included; Kisa kya Mukama Yiga alias Wamala NRM youth mobiliser in the area, Kiwendo Nathan, Ssenyondo Stephen and Mugenyi Vincent.

These are charged with assault.

Maddu residents who were supporting Mr Mugenyi are panicking and scared what is to happen to them after rumours circulating that many are to face arrest.
