Road to 2021: NRM cream, former VP Bukenya, Prof. Kyabayinze and Minister Eng. Galabuzi lock horns for Busiro North Parliamentary seat. Whisper Eye Reports

Busiro county North constituency has attracted the finest brains from the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) to fight for the seat.

Former vice president Gilbert Baalibaseka Bukenya made an abrupt U-turn to active politics when he declared to contest for the seat in the forthcoming coming general elections.

Hon Bukenya represented the Busiro North since 1996 until recently in 2016 when he first declared to contest for presidency with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and towards elections he withdrew and joined him.

The act that affected him to loose the parliamentary seat to youthful Eng Galabuzi Ssozi, who was also appointed by Mr Museveni a state minister for Luwero Triangle.

Professor Bukenya vowed to defeat Minister Galabuzi, immediately after his nomination at NRM Secretariat (Election Commission section) at Kyadondo, Kampala on Friday.

Minister Galabuzi is not safe, apart from Prof. Bukenya, another intelligent Epidemiologist Professor Omulangira Daniel Kyabayinze nominated for the same seat too.

Prof. Kyabayinze has been on the fore front in fighting Malaria in Uganda and has a wide range of knowledge about Malaria.

He told Whisper Eye news, that Minister Galabuzi has not delivered to the expectations of the residents of Busiro North, arguing that he has come to deliver and perform.

Professor Daniel Kyabayinze, said that the former vice president had enough time as the area MP, and there is a need currently to have new ideas.

Minister Galabuzi immediately after his nomination on Friday, in an exclusive interview with Whisper Eye, said that he is set to win again.

“I respect the former vice president a lot, but it is unfortunately to him that I’m winning again,” says Minister Galabuzi.

Dennis Galabuzi Ssozi is a Ugandan civil engineer, politician and businessman.

He is the State Minister for Luweero Triangle in the Ugandan Cabinet.

He was appointed to that position on 6 June 2016, replacing Sarah Kataike, who was dropped from cabinet.
