The founder of Boda Boda 2010 association notorious Abdallah Kitatta appealed to Court Martial challenging eight-year sentence in jail.
Uganda Army Court Martial at Makindye Military barracks is set to hear Abdallah Kitatta’s appeal challenging 8 year sentence.
A reliable source informed us, that the Army Court Martial in Makindye will on Friday August 7, 2020, start hearing former Bodaboda 2010 Patron Abdallah Kitatta’s appeal, challenging the 8 years sentence after he was found guilty of possessing a gun illegally.
Mr Kitatta who commanded the notorious militia group of Bodaboda 2010 was arrested in January 2018 in Kampala by Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI).
Mr Kitatta was arrested after two of his members confessed to CMI that they had participated in the gruesome killing of Case Clinic Accountant, Francis Ekalungar.
Army and defence spokesman, Brig Richard Karemire, had earlier confirmed the arrest of two Bodaboda 2010 members, before the arrest of the patron Mr Kitatta.
In May, 2019, the Army Court Martial at Makindye handed Mr Kitatta and his body guard a 8 year jail sentence.
Lt Gen Andrew Gutti advised Kitatta and his colleague to appeal against his decision with in 14 days if they were dissatisfied, which they did.
The Army Court Martial found Kitatta and his body guard Sowali Ngobi guilty of being in possession of a firearm without a valid licence.
Among the guns that Kitatta unlawfully possessed were; the famous gold pistol, an SMG riffle and 35 ammunition.
