Race 2021: Political activist Mugonza Andrew trounces Lwankoni Parish councillor Lwanga by 64℅ for Kyotera county DP flag bearer race in a mockery online elections . Whisper Eye Reports

Democratic Party (DP) party primaries race for Kyotera County takes a new twist as candidates intensify campaigns to win the Party ticket.

Yesterday evening DP hold a mockery online elections between the major contenders of the DP ticket for Kyotera county.

The race was between a renown political activist and Uganda Young Democrats (UYD) National Deputy Organising Secretary, also People Power, Our Power strategist Mugonza Andrew popularly known as ‘Senator’ who won the vote with 64.3%.

His competitor Lwanga Kirumira, the Lwankoni parish councillor to Lwankoni sub County in Kyotera district scored 35.7%.

Mr Mugonza who is very popular in Uganda’s politics declared last week, his interest to contest for the Kyotera county MP seat in 2021.

Information reaching to us from Kyotera is that, residents in the Constituency prefer Mr Mugonza Andrew whom they trust to defeat Museveni’s minister Haji Haruna Kyeyune Kasolo of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM).

DP Kyotera county spokesperson told Whisper Eye that they have traversed the whole county but residents are not convinced with his political capacity.

Mr Lwanga has declared him self as the DP party flag bearer.

However, DP Ag Secretary General Gerald Silanda Blacks told Whisper Eye that the party has not yet conducted any primaries as of now.
