Former Makerere University lecturer, a renown queer rights activist Dr Stella Nyanzi has picked Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) nomination forms.

Dr Stella Nyanzi also popularly known as Nnalongo (Owenene) has officially declared to contest for Kampala district woman MP on FDC ticket.

“Today, I collected my “Expression of Interest” and “Nomination for Party Primaries” forms from the party headquarters of FDC.

I also renewed my party membership for 2020,’ says Dr Nyanzi.

‘I am extremely grateful to my proposer the Vice Chairperson of FDC – Owekitiibwa Joyce Nabbosa Sebugwawo, and my seconders who include Buwembo Habib and Fred Bugoba,’ she explained.

Human right activist has vowed to unseat incumbent Nabiira Nagayi Ssempala, also on FDC ticket.

“My aspirations for the Kampala Woman Member of Parliament seat are now firm. I am preparing hard for the party primaries” states Dr Nyanzi.

Whisper Eye has been reliably informed that many FDC top officials back Dr Nyanzi’s 2021 parliamentary bid, arguing that hon Nabiira has disappointed them.

Stella Nyanzi was born 16 June 1974, is a Ugandan medical anthropologist, feminist, queer rights activist, and scholar of sexuality, family planning, and public health.

She was arrested in 2017 for insulting the Ugandan president, imprisoned for a couple of months.
