Covid-19: Uganda cases hit 694 as 8 more test positive

Ministry of Health on Thursday announced 8 new COVID-19 cases, bringing its total number of confirmed cases to 694. Whisper Eye Reports

All the new cases are truck drivers and alerts and contacts of the same. a statement reads from the ministry.

Whisper Eye has learnt that 4 new cases are Truck drivers who arrived via Elegu and via Mutukula, and 3 cases are contacts and alerts from Kyotera and Arua district.

The country health ministry, in its daily update this morning of thursday confirmed these new rising covid-19 cases.

All contact positive cases are under Quarantine, the ministry confirmed.

Uganda now has 694 covid-19 cases since march.

Uganda also handed over 18 positive foreign truck drivers to their respective countries .

Uganda has now registered 199 recoveries according to the ministry of health with no reports of death.

Malaba, Busia and Mutukula border points turn out to be the most risky areas as far as Covid-19 is concerned.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID–19) is a communicable respiratory disease caused by a new strain of coronavirus that causes illness in humans.

Uganda has decided to ease the lockdown.
