Lord Mayor to be Ssebaana Kizito (NRM) calls upon EC to throw more light on coming 2021 Uganda elections

Lord Mayor to be Ssebaana Kizito (NRM) calls upon EC to throw more light on coming 2021 elections.Whisper Eye Reports.

National Resistance Movement (NRM) Kampala City mayoral candidate Mr Ssebaana Kizito asks the Electoral Commission to pronounce it’s self over 2021 general elections as early as possible.

Mr Ssebaana told Whisper Eye that there is a need for aspirants to know about the preparations of the elections for proper planning.

“EC boss Justice Simon Byabakama must be very clear, how are we going to carry out elections in Covid-19 pandemic situation,’ says Mr Ssebaana.

“We have one year to go, however we have not conducted Party primaries, no youth elections, eldery and disabled. We have only one year to have all prior elections before the general elections, he adds.”

The constitution states that we must have elections by all means in 2021.

”Government must play it’s role, determine how citizens can live with the deadly Corona Virus because it is here for awhile, Mr Ssebaana explained.”

Before President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni put the country to lock down, EC had received 35 notable aspirants for presidency.

These include Kyadondo East MP Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine, former security minister Lt Gen (Rtd) Henry Tumukunde, and first ever green presidential candidate Mugerwa Timothy among others.
