A female suspect, identified as the girlfriend of Eric Arumadri, 37, the deceased Madi-Okollo District Engineer, has been detained at Arua Central Police Station (CPS) to assist with an ongoing investigation into his death.

According to law enforcement, Arumadri, a resident of Ewanyapa Cell, Ayivu West Division, Arua City, was found dead  at Home Land Guest House in Congoloyo Cell, Awindiri Ward, Central Division, Arua City, on Monday, March 24, 2025.

SP Collins Asea, West Nile Regional Police Spokesperson, confirmed the suspect’s arrest in an official statement. He reported that the victim had checked into the lodging at approximately 12:30 PM  and subsequently suffered a collapse, resulting in his death after being transported to Family Care Hospital.

“The deceased arrived in Arua at approximately 1230 hours and secured Room 07 at Home Land Guest House to rest with his known associate, whose name is withheld,” Asea stated.

He further elaborated, “At around 1500 hours, the subject collapsed within the premises and was immediately conveyed to Family Care Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.”

Investigators allege that Arumadri had traveled from his duty station in Madi-Okollo to Arua City on official business to procure corporate T-shirts for an upcoming Environment Day celebration in Madi-Okollo.

Homicide detectives and uniformed officers responded to the scene, conducting a thorough examination, processing evidence, and documenting findings.

All items within the room were seized as evidence, and the case has been logged under reference number ARUA D.E.F 03/2025.

The body of the deceased was transported to Arua Regional Referral Hospital for a postmortem examination, overseen by the Regional Police Surgeon.
