Survey: NUP’s Teddy Nambooze leading with 51% in Mpigi Woman MP race
National Unity Platform (NUP) party flag bearer for Mpigi district Woman MP seat Nambooze Teddy is set to defeat NRM.
According to the opinion polls conducted in the entire district, Ms Nambooze is leading with 51% and National Resistance Movement (NRM) flag bearer Nakawunde Sarah is in the second position with 30%.
Ms Nayiga Sait who is the NRM leaning candidate who lost in the party primaries is in the third position with 15%, other candidates are sharing 04%.
Many NRM top leaders are backing Ms Nayiga to win this seat.
Residents say that they are going to vote Ms Nambooze because she is the NUP flag bearer and close to NUP presidential candidate Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert popularly known as Bobi Wine.
In addition, residents told Whisper Eye news that Ms Nambooze has been consistent in opposition and has had the best campaign among all candidates.
The candidature of Ms Nayiga, an independent candidate sponsored by NRM top leaders affects MP Nakawunde, thus may cost the NRM party the seat.
