Stalemate draw between Uganda & Rwanda’s Amavubi stars in the CHAN group opener

Stalemate draw between Uganda Cranes and Rwanda’s Amavubi stars in the CHAN group opener

The cranes that were captained by defender Mistafa Mujuzi were unable to secure 3 points as planned in their group C opener wit neighbours Rwanda.

Rwanda looked a better side of the day after almost bruising the cranes on several occasions. The Amavubi hit the woodwork twice in the first half something that showed alot of punctures in the Cranes defence. Cranes was without the tournament captain Halid Lwalila who was unfit to start the game.

The cranes suffered a blow in the 12th minute after striker Milton Kaliisa twisted his knee as he took a shot. He was substituteed by the KCCA striker Brian Aheebwa who also had litte to do in the bid to secure then 3 points for the Cranes.

The second half was also a terrible moment for the cranes as the cranes defence was still threatened at so many times especially being disturbed several times by the Rwanda Striker Tuyisenge. Experienced midfielder Tony Mawejje was introduced in the second half to ensure stability in the midfielder which he did as expected.

The game ended 0-0 something which still gives hope to the cranes to make sure that the cranes goes past the group stages for the 1st time in the CHAN’s history
