Esther Nakawooya Breaks Silence on Nakaseke Election Petition, Rallies Supporters for Court Battle

Nakaseke District Woman MP petitioner Esther Nakawooya has called upon her supporters and well-wishers to remain resilient, vigilant, and ready to provide evidence as the hearing of her election petition is expected to commence soon at the High Court in Luweero.

Speaking during an event held at Kalagi in Kasangombe Sub County, Nakawooya revealed that she was recently notified that the court process regarding her petition challenging the 2026 Nakaseke District Woman MP election results is set to begin.

Nakawooya, who contested on the National Unity Platform (NUP) ticket, expressed confidence in the outcome of the case, saying she believes justice will prevail.“We are hopeful and prayerful that we are going to win this case.

I want to thank all our supporters who have remained strong throughout this process,” Nakawooya told the gathering.

She further urged residents, polling agents, and witnesses to remain firm and willing to provide any evidence that may support the petition without fear or intimidation.

“I ask you to remain vigilant and fearless. Whoever has any evidence concerning what transpired during the elections should be ready to support the truth when called upon,” she added.

Nakawooya petitioned the High Court in Luwero seeking nullification of the election of NRM’s Sarah Najjuma as Nakaseke District Woman MP, citing alleged electoral irregularities including ballot stuffing, alteration of results, suspicious voter turnout figures, and discrepancies in vote tallying at several polling stations.

According to the petition filed through M/S Alaka and Company Advocates, Nakawooya alleges that the Electoral Commission failed to conduct the elections in compliance with electoral laws and the Constitution.

The petition cites multiple polling stations across Nakaseke where voter turnout allegedly ranged between 99 and 100 percent, including names of deceased persons still appearing on the voters’ register.

Nakawooya also alleges that results from several polling stations were altered in favour of the declared winner.

By the time of filing this story on Whisper Eye, neither Sarah Najjuma nor the Electoral Commission had publicly responded to the latest remarks made by Nakawooya regarding the upcoming hearing.

The case is expected to attract significant public interest as supporters from both political camps closely follow proceedings at the High Court in Luweero.
