Journalist Lozio Sets Sights on NRM CEC Position, Aims to Amplify Kampala’s Voice

Journalist Aloysius Tamale Luyinda Lozio has officially expressed his interest in contesting for the position of NRM Vice Chairperson for Kampala Region, a key seat in the Central Executive Committee (CEC) of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM). If successful, Lozio will become part of the party’s top decision-making body, influencing critical policy directions and strategies.

A highly trusted source has confirmed that Lozio is determined to unseat the incumbent, Singh Kantongole, in the upcoming elections. The source further revealed that Lozio is not only confident but has also built a strong campaign team and network to mobilize support within the region.

Lozio’s campaign is driven by his commitment to ensuring that the voices of Kampala residents, particularly the youth, are heard within the party’s leadership. According to sources close to him, he believes that the current representation has failed to fully address the concerns of Kampala’s urban population, especially in terms of development, governance, and economic empowerment.

“Kampala is the heartbeat of Uganda’s political and economic activities. Its people need a leader who understands their struggles and aspirations. I am stepping up to bridge that gap,” Lozio reportedly told his close associates.

Lozio is a well-known journalist with vast experience in media and communication. Over the years, he has built strong relationships with influential figures in business and politics, making him a formidable candidate for the position. His deep connections within the corridors of power could work to his advantage as he seeks to rally support from both party insiders and the grassroots.

Beyond journalism, Lozio is also recognized for his philanthropic activities. He has been involved in various community initiatives aimed at supporting underprivileged groups, empowering young entrepreneurs, and promoting education.

The battle for the NRM Vice Chairperson Kampala Region seat is expected to be intense. However, Lozio’s entry into the race brings fresh energy and a new perspective, especially for young people who feel underrepresented in key decision-making platforms.

As the election season approaches, it remains to be seen how Lozio will navigate the political landscape, consolidate his support base, and challenge the status quo within the NRM leadership. His ability to articulate his vision and connect with the grassroots will play a crucial role in determining his success.

For now, Kampala watches closely as the race for the influential NRM CEC seat gains momentum.
