SPA Hon. Katushabe Ruth, Col. Samba to Empower Kibinge Cultural Leaders After Butayunga Success, Urge Support for Museveni’s Poverty Eradication Initiatives

In a bid to accelerate poverty eradication efforts and boost household incomes, Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs and Translation, Hon. Katushabe Ruth, alongside Col. Hassan Samba are to distributed various livestock and agricultural empowerment items to the cultural heads in Kibinge , Bukomansimbi District following a successful distribution in Butayunga. This initiative, in line with President Yoweri Museveni’s broader vision for economic empowerment, primarily targeted Kibinge cultural leaders led by the Omubinge to set an example for the local communities. The Kibinge people will receive these items early in the month of March.

While addressing the beneficiaries, Hon. Katushabe Ruth emphasized that development transcends tribal, regional, or political boundaries and should be embraced by all Ugandans. She underscored the President’s commitment to transforming the livelihoods of all citizens by ensuring they actively participate in the money economy.

“Development has no tribe, color, or region. The President is doing all that is possible to pull the largest percentage of our population into income-generating activities. It is, therefore, crucial that we all support his initiatives in the fight against poverty,” Hon. Katushabe told the gathering.

She further urged cultural, religious, and political leaders in Butayunga and beyond to mobilize their communities to take full advantage of government empowerment programs designed to uplift them from poverty.

The distribution exercise saw the handover of various livestock and agricultural resources, including:Chicks (for poultry farming), Pigs (to promote piggery as an income-generating activity), Bulls (for farming and livestock trade) and Coffee seedlings (to support the expansion of commercial farming).

These items, Hon. Katushabe noted, were not only being distributed in Butayunga also across other districts in the region and the entire country as part of President Museveni’s wider strategy to eradicate poverty at the grassroots level with Kibinge to benefit from the initiative next week.

The empowerment initiative in Butayunga is part of the broader national efforts led by President Museveni to uplift Ugandans economically. This Statehouse initiative under which this distribution falls, has been instrumental in ensuring that farmers and small-scale entrepreneurs access necessary resources for financial independence.

Additionally, other government initiatives such Parish Development Model (PDM), Emyooga, OWC Program continue to provide financial support and training to Ugandans in various income-generating ventures.

Hon. Katushabe and Col. Samba reminded the people of Butayunga and Bukomansimbi that these initiatives would only be successful if the beneficiaries utilized them effectively. They urged recipients to invest time and effort in their livestock and agricultural projects, ensuring that they multiply the benefits for themselves and their communities.

As Uganda moves forward with its poverty eradication agenda, leaders emphasized the need for collaboration, hard work, and continued support for President Museveni’s vision of economic transformation.

With the government’s sustained focus on empowerment, the people of Butayunga, Kibinge and beyond have a crucial opportunity to embrace agriculture and livestock farming as viable pathways to financial stability and self-sufficiency.
