Armed UPDF Major  forcefully confiscate motorcycle from Terego Police Post

Major Amakule Fendezio of Uganda People’s Defense Forces in Terego District is on the spot for allegedly invading Aii-Vu Police Post, In Terego District, to forcefully confiscate a  Motorcycle stored at the station.

Police said in a statement that Major Amakule Fendezio, clad in civilian attire, accompanied by other armed individuals, visited the station, following an earlier accident case registered at the station.

According to a statement from West Nile regional Police Spokesperson SP Collins Asea, the UPDF officer with other armed individuals whilst travelling in a UPDF-registered vehicle,  at around 11:27 am on  Wednesday, January 22, 2025, invaded the police station, and forcefully confiscated the motorcycle.

It’s not clear whether he owns the motorcycle.

A Case of aggravated robbery is registered under CRB 028/2025.

“Terego CPS is investigating an incident that occurred today, 22nd January 2025, CRB O28/2025 at approximately 11:27 AM at Aii-Vu Police Post in Terego District. The incident involves allegations of aggravated robbery involving a Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) officer and others” Asea said in a statement issued on Thursday 23, January 2025.

He added that ” preliminary reports indicate that Major Amakule Fendezio, reportedly dressed in civilian attire, visited Aii-Vu Police Post in connection with an earlier accident case. During the visit, it is alleged that he and other armed individuals, travelling in a UPDF-registered vehicle, forcibly removed a motorcycle from the police post”

Asea assured that the Police and UPDF are working closely to ensure the case is investigated according to the law.

” We reaffirm our commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring justice and accountability. As investigations are ongoing, we urge the public to remain calm and allow the appropriate authorities to handle the matter” Said Asea
