Hundreds embrace  third edition of annual  education and environment run  2024

Life Concern, The Zombo based  non governmental organization  with funding from COOPERAID, a Switzerland based non governmental organization have launched the third  edition of annual education  and environment run 2024.

The event under the Project  “Alochi Ku Somu”  launched on  Monday 2, 2024, at Pakadha Primary  school playground in  Abanga Sub-county ,  covers the three  sub-counties of Abanga, Jangokoro and Paidha town council respectively.

Denis Ocuna, the program officer at Life Concern, on behalf of the executive Director of Life concern Kakura Emmy Kizito, said through the event they are extending  free medical camp for the community , awards to the best performers , sensitization on environmental conservation and retention of girls in schools.

The LCIII chairperson of Abanga Sub-County Richard Awekunimungu appreciates the organization’s  support towards retention of girls in school, renovation of teachers houses and classrooms in the  Sub count.

He added ” i want to request our youths to effectively use the gifts effectively and not divert it in alcoholism.

 Participants have been encouraged  to be ambassadors  of better farming  practices, tree planting   that has become a major global issue.
