South Sudan’s Duot Achuil Ajak, a student of St Lawrence Academy, honored by Kenya’s Ruto for essay writing excellence

Duot Achuil Ajak, a student from St. Lawrence Academy Secondary School, has been honored with a distinguished award for emerging as the best essay writer from South Sudan. Whisper Eye News understands.

The recognition was presented to Ajak yesterday’s by the President of the Republic of Kenya, His Excellency Dr. William Ruto, during the East African Community (EAC) Summit.

Ajak’s exceptional writing skills and his insightful perspective earned him the top spot in the essay competition, which was part of the broader efforts to promote youth involvement in intellectual and academic forums across the East African region.

This achievement highlights not only Ajak’s talent but also underscores the growing role of young people in shaping the future of the region.

The award ceremony, held in Nairobi, celebrated Ajak’s creativity and depth of thought, making him a symbol of promise and intellectual prowess among his peers.

The competition saw participants from several East African countries, with Ajak standing out as a beacon of excellence in writing from South Sudan.

In his address, President Ruto emphasized the importance of nurturing young talent and encouraging youth participation in educational and intellectual endeavors, noting that it is vital for the development and future of the East African Community.

Ajak’s success also highlights the effective leadership of St. Lawrence Academy Secondary School, where he is a student under the guidance of Mr Achier Manyuat John, the CEO of St. Lawrence Academy (SLA), the school has made significant strides in fostering academic excellence and encouraging students to actively engage in regional and international competitions.

“I am deeply honored to receive this award,” said Ajak during the ceremony. “This recognition is not just a personal achievement but also a reflection of the hard work and support from my school, family, and mentors.”

The East African Community Summit serves as a platform for regional cooperation, and Ajak’s achievement symbolizes the growing role of youth in shaping the future of East Africa. As he looks ahead, Ajak is eager to continue pursuing his passion for writing and contributing to the intellectual growth of South Sudan and the broader East African community.
