West Nile football fraternity mourns  a star footballer

Football fraternity in west Nile Sub-region is currently reeling in shock, after the sudden news of the passing away of a  player  Dickens Opakrwoth.

He is a player for Nebbi district based fourth division side Parombu United FC.

Opakrwoth formerly sent two seasons  at Paidha United FC in Zombo district,  before signing for Parombu United FC.

The West Nile Region Football association  announced his tragic demise on Oct 21, 2024.

” We are saddened to have learnt of the death of Opakrwoth Dickens of Parombo United FC, a 4th Division Club of Nebbi DFA that occured today early morning” The region stated, before condoling with the deceased family in this trying moment.

“The deceased for the past two seasons had been playing for Paidha United in the Regional League. 

We convey our heartfelt condolences to the family , the club and stakeholders for this loss. May His Soul Rest In Life Everlasting ” 

His former club Paidha United posted a short message on their Facebook page saying” Our former player Opakrwoth Dickens has gone to be with the lord, may his soul rest in peace “

His colleagues in the football fraternity have been sharing his pictures, expressing their feeling of remorse during this trying time.

The cause of his death is unclear, but sources say he has been feeling unwell for sometimes.

His burial arrangements shall be announced according to his close relatives.

Recently, Onduparaka FC also lost a star Player in the name of Rachid Again.
