Updf Soldiers Shot One Invading Kiryandongo Military Radar

Uganda People Defense Force (UPDF), soldiers attached to Kaduku Hill Army Detach in Kiryandongo district shot to death an unidentified man who is believed to be in his 40’s.

The incident occurred on Saturday morning at around 9:30 am, according to security in the Albertine region.

Security officials say, in an exclusive interview with our reporter that the deceased man invaded the military installation while armed with bow and arrows, approached and advanced to the Military Radar Station at Kaduku Hill.

They added that despite efforts by the soldiers on duty to scare away the intruder, he instead threatened officers with his bow and arrows and they promptly shot dead the suspect at the spot.

Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police spokesperson, confirmed the incident, stating that police were alerted and quickly arrived at the scene.

Hakiza adds that the deceased’s body was subsequently taken to Kiryandongo General Hospital ‘s Mortuary, for postmortem and identification.

“At this time, the motive behind the man’s actions remains unknown.”  We established the deceased had a bow and arrows and fresh wounds on his forehead.” Hakiza explained

Meanwhile the police mouthpiece revealed that investigations are ongoing to determine why the stranger, armed with a primitive weapon, attempted to enter a highly secured military installation.
