Floods swallowed  Pakwach village displacing hundreds

The Monday pounding rain that battered many parts of west Nile Subregion has left a wrenching trail of destructions in Pakwach town council, Pakwach District, submerging  a village rendering the residents homeless.

Authorities say the severely affected area is Jukaal Cell,  Puvungu Central Ward, Pakwach Town Council.

Video clips seen by this Publication showed teary displaced  residents including children , stranded with their belongings, calling for support from well-wishers and local leaders. 

A resident of Pakwach said ” LC5 Pakwach and Paul  Eseru ⁩ Resident District Commissioner , a  visit to this site will only restore the lost hope in the community, the Environmental officer  and District Engineer need to be on the forefront of this event” 

The LCV chairperson of Pakwach district Omito Robert Steen expressed remorse over the incident, directing local authorities to write urgent  report to the relevant authorities 

” Am sorry I have some little delays at a burial of electrical mechanic David at Alwi Puyang, there after I will join those places whereas it’s the roles of the SDCO, Town agent of that particular ward and the Town Clerk to take photographic evidence attach to a written report to CAO as Chairperson District Disaster Committee for onward forwarding to Office of Prime Minister within 24hrs” Omito briefly said.

Meanwhile the Resident District Commissioner of Pakwach Paul Eseru  said ”  It is very unfortunate. We are appealing to all good Samaritans to come together and we offer any kind of Support to our People.”

According to reports , the Monday heavy downpour caused mayhem on infrastructure nationwide, opening a can of worms on the dire state of infrastructure roads in some parts of the country, always worsened when the sky opens.
