President Museveni left joyed and happy as Ugandans Celebrated His Achievements at Kololo

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of Uganda for celebrating his enduring legacy in a grand event held on Friday 5th July 2024 at Kololo Independence grounds.

The President who was accompanied by the 1st Lady Hon Janet Museveni reflected on the remarkable journey since he took office in 1986, emphasizing the transformative changes that have shaped Uganda into a more prosperous and secure nation.

In his speech, President Museveni reminisced about the challenging state of the nation in 1986. Uganda was grappling with political instability, economic turmoil, and social unrest. However, through concerted efforts and resilient leadership, significant strides have been made across various sectors.

One of the cornerstones of his administration has been the introduction of an extensive mass immunization program. This initiative drastically reduced infant mortality rates and curbed the spread of preventable diseases, improving the overall health landscape of the country.

The President also highlighted the liberalization of the economy as a critical turning point. By opening up markets and encouraging private sector participation, Uganda witnessed unprecedented economic growth, attracting foreign investment and fostering local entrepreneurship.

The introduction of Universal Primary Education was as well a transformative policy, ensuring that every Ugandan child has access to basic education. This move has significantly increased literacy rates and empowered the youth to contribute meaningfully to the nation’s development.

The President also talked about the various poverty eradication programs which have been implemented to uplift the socio-economic status of Ugandans including Emyooga, PDM, youth livelyhood fund, Entandikwa ,etc.These initiatives have provided resources and training, enabling citizens to engage in productive activities and improve their living standards.

Peace and Security: Perhaps the most significant achievement has been the restoration of peace and security. President Museveni underscored that a stable and secure environment is the bedrock of all other developments. With peace, communities can thrive, and economic activities can flourish.

President Museveni encouraged Ugandans to leverage the prevailing peace and security to improve their lives. He urged citizens to engage in income-generating activities, utilize available resources, and contribute to the nation’s ongoing development.

The event, meticulously organized by Ugandans led the Director of Mobilization of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), Hon. Rose Mary Sseninde, saw thousands in attendance. Hon. Sseninde thanked President Museveni for his tireless efforts and the positive changes he has brought to Uganda.

The occasion was graced by top government officials, including ministers, Members of Parliament, and permanent secretaries, religious and Cultural leaders , among others. The celebration was vibrant, with food and drinks available for all, performances by artists, product exhibitions, and a medical camp providing free health services.

As Ugandans celebrated, the atmosphere was one of unity, gratitude, and optimism for the future. The legacy of President Museveni stands as a testament to the progress achieved and the potential that lies ahead for Uganda.
