The body of a Rwandan Citizen identified as Miss. Nduwayezu Marie Rose was found in a Guest house in Luwero known as Klne Guest House in Kizito, Luwero Town Council. It is believed the 48 year old was murdered.
The primary suspect, identified as a one Gerald Byamugisha, is currently on the run. According to Savannah Regional Police spokesperson Sam Twiineamazima, a man claiming to be Byamugisha, who did not provide any other personal information or a contact number, booked a room at the guest house with the deceased who was found with a Rwandan National Identity Card, at 2 pm on Saturday.
They stayed in the room until 5 pm, when Byamugisha left alone, arousing no initial suspicions.
On Sunday morning, May 19, 2024, a room attendant discovered Rose’s body. It was found facing upward with her head shoved under the toilet seat, and a yellow piece of cloth, apparently used to strangle her, was tightly tied around her neck.
The cleaner informed the guest house proprietor, Kigozi Lameka, who then notified Luwero Central Police Station (CPS). The police swiftly responded to the information and registered a murder case. CCTV footage was recovered to aid ongoing investigations. Several suspects have been apprehended, though their identities have yet to be revealed.
The deceased’s body has been taken to the Luwero Hospital morgue for an autopsy. The investigation includes a manhunt for the key suspect, Byamugisha.
As we report, her body is lying in luwero hospital mortuary for postmortem. The owner of the guest house has been arrested by police to help in the investigation.
