Tragic Nebbi road crash claims lives of couple in heartbreaking accident

Okaba John Bosco aged 30, and his wife Esther Afoyorwoth 27,  from Jupuyik Village  Jupangira Subcounty, Nebbi District were pronounced dead on spot after the motorcycle with registration number 07AA895 they were travelling on collided with a Pepsi lorry with the registration number UBB297Z  at Oryang cell, forest ward, Thatha division, Nebbi municipality along Nebbi-Arua Road on Saturday 13.

The deceased died on the spot and their bodies were taken to  Nebbi General Hospital mortuary for autopsy.

 The driver of the vehicle identified as Mukulu Stephen 35 years old from Central Ward Nebbi Municipality is at Nebbi Central Police Station to aid in the investigation. The truck is at Nebbi Central Police Station.

By press time, Police had visited the crime scene and were yet to release the report.

Recently, The DPC of Nebbi  Aminsi Kayondo raised concerns about the mechanical conditions of most trucks and called upon traffic police to up their operation against trucks with dangerous mechanical conditions.
