UPDF Van collides with four Cars due to brake system failure -Traffic Police

Today, at approximately 1340hrs, a UPDF funeral van with registration number H4DF 1532 veered out of control due to brake system failure.

The incident occurred at Abayita Ababiri township along the Kampala – Entebbe road, resulting in a collision with four other vehicles.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported, as confirmed by authorities. Both the Traffic Police and the UPDF transport department are actively involved in managing the aftermath of the accident, collaborating closely with the affected individuals.

In response to the incident, a spokesperson for the UPDF expressed regret, emphasizing the institution’s commitment to prioritizing road safety for its vehicles and all other road users.

Measures are expected to be put in place to prevent such occurrences in the future.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of regular maintenance and safety checks for all vehicles, particularly those operated by public institutions, to ensure the safety of everyone on the road.
