Man kills security officer along Uganda- DR Congo border

A congolese local security officer  was allegedly beaten to death by an angry Congolese  broker,  along Uganda DR Congo border in Kango Sub county Zombo district stoking tension in the area.

The Local Market from Where the tragic incident happened is shared by both Ugandans and Congolese.

The  security officer  has been only  identified as Joel, a Congolese national who was enforcing revenue collection along the border town. It’s reported that he clashed with a broker who hit him in the stomach before he collapsed and was rushed to a nearby clinic from where he was pronounced dead.

The LC III Chairperson of Kango Sub-County Jimmy Christopher confirmed the incident saying ” many of the people in my area were in panic but we calmed the situation”.

He said ” we strongly condemned any form of violence and laziness in this border town because we live peacefully here with our Congolese counterparts”.

The shocking incident that brought business to a still on March 29, with many Locals fleeing  their homes for fear that the relatives of the deceased might storm the area to retaliate their relative tragic death.

The Suspected killer  was later arrested and handed over to congolese authorities according to local leaders
